Food waste from our kitchens is treated at our on-site Maggot House, using a Black Soldier Fly system developed by Magi Farm, a specialist food-waste treatment initiative in Bali. The larvae rapidly consume organic waste, keeping it out of landfill before being harvested as a protein source for animal feed. The remaining residue is then used as organic fertiliser for plants.

Food scraps and garden clippings are composted at our on-site Compost House, turning biodegradable waste into nutrient-rich material for the soil. The compost is returned to the gardens, nourishing the tropical plants and greenery across Bali Beach Glamping. By keeping organic material on site and putting it back into the earth, we reduce waste while supporting healthier garden ecosystems.
Used cooking oil from our kitchens is collected in partnership with Noovoleum, an Indonesian company specialising in the recovery and recycling of used cooking oil. The oil is collected and repurposed into useful products, including biodiesel and industrial chemicals. This keeps waste oil out of drains, soil and the surrounding environment while giving it a valuable second use.

Our fish pond is maintained using carefully treated recycled water, creating a healthy environment for fish and the surrounding plants while reducing our demand for freshwater. The water is treated before entering the pond to ensure it is safe for its aquatic life. This simple system allows water to be reused within the resort rather than discarded after a single use.
Waste is separated at source throughout the resort, allowing organic and recyclable materials to be recovered before disposal. Together, these everyday systems have reduced the amount of waste Bali Beach Glamping sends to landfill by nearly 40%. Sorting waste where it is created means more material can be composted, recycled or put to another use instead of simply thrown away.
